Ingredients

  • 250 gramsmakkai ka atta
  • 1 teaspoonred chili powder
  • to tastesalt
  • 1 tablespoonlime juice
  • 1 TSPjeera
  • 1 TSPhing
  • 1 tbspGinger garlic green chilli paste
  • 1 TSPajwain
  • 1 TSPsaunf
  • 1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1/4 cupmethi leaves
  • 1/4 cuppalak
  • 1/4dhania pata
  • 1/4 cupdahi
  • For tadka
  • 2 tbspGhee

Steps

  1. 1

    Add all the ingredients to a large bowl.
    Mix everything well together until crumbly.
    Add lukewarm water and knead to make a soft dough. Add water little by little.
    Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. Make the dough into balls and flatten them a bit. Make a hole in the center of the dough.
    Heat an idli pan with water. Arrange the dhokla on idli steamer and steam for 20-25 minutes on high heat.

    You can use any steamer also.

    Cook till it becomes soft and double in side.

  4. 4

    Close the flame and let it rest for 5 min

  5. 5

    Open the steamer and demould the dhokla

  6. 6

    Drizzle ghee over the hot dhokla and serve hot with dal or chutney.

  7. 7

    Drizzle sesame oil or ghee over the hot dhokla and serve hot with dal or chutney
