Steps
- 1
First for boiling Palak, we have to boil the water really well and add the Palak in it. Turn off the flame immediately and let it blanch for 2 minutes.
- 2
Now before Removing the Palak from hot water, add in some salt and lemon juice. It will help the Palak to retain its beautiful green colour.
- 3
Now immediately add the boiled palak in Ice cold water with some extra ice, this will also help to retain the colour.
- 4
Now to boil the Dal, take all the Dal mentioned above and wash it thoroughly. Once washed, let it soak for 15 minutes. Now, add the dal in the pressure cooker and add salt and boil for 4 whistle on low flame. I have added a few leaves of Palak in the dal as well to get the flavour.
- 5
Now for making Dal Palak, add Oil, Ginger garlic, Onions and saute it till golden brown.
- 6
Then add Red Chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder and salt and mix it together. Add Tomatoes.
- 7
Add the Tomatoes and mix it well. Cook it till mushy. Once it's done, add boiled palak.
- 8
Add boiled Palak and mix it well. And cook it until well combined with the spices. And salt if needed more.
- 9
Add in some Garam masala and mix it well. Cook it until the Palak slightly changes its Colour.
- 10
Once the oil is released, add in the cooked dal.
- 11
Mix the dal with the Palak until well combined. Cook it for a few more minutes. Heat the oil separately.
- 12
Once the oil is nicely heated, add some cumin seeds and a dries chilli broken in two pieces and once it sputters nicely, add the tempering in the Dal we prepared.
- 13
Mix the tempering well with the Dal and cook it for 2 minutes more.
- 14
