Though rice flour khichu is popular, we can prepare khichu from various flours too.This soft and spicy steamed delicacy is speciality of Patel community. Hot hot Khichu tastes best with ground nut oil, red chilli powder, pickle masala and garlic chutney.

In a pan, add 2 cups water, cumin seeds, carom seeds, green chillies, cooking soda and salt and let it boil.

Once it starts boiling, let it boil for 2-3 minutes and add oil.

Now turn the flame on low and add flour little by little, while stirring with rolling pin, continuously so no lumps are formed.

Once it mixes properly turn off the flame. Now pressure cook it for 10 minutes too. Then remove from thr cooker and mix well.

Serve hot with oil and pickle masala.
