2 cupswater
3/4 cupsugar
1/2 cupDutch processed cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoonsinstant espresso powder
1 teaspoonvanilla

Steps

Whisk the 1st 3 ingredients over medium-high heat in a heavy saucepan until the sugar dissolved and mixture comes to a boil. Stir in the espresso powder and vanilla. Chill for several hours.

Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and process accordingly.
