A Parkin recipe my nan made throughout my childhood.

Line or grease approximately 8"x 10" tin

Mix together all dry ingredients except sugar

Warm treacle, sugar and marg/butter over a low heat until fully combined and sugar dissolved.
Stir constantly - 4
Add bicarbonate of soda to the boiling water then pour into treacle mixture

Add wet to dry and mix well

Pour into tin tin and bake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 1 hour.
DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR BEFORE 45 MINUTES OR IT WILL SINK IN THE MIDDLE
