Simple and Delicious Pork Shumai

This is the pork shumai I've been eating at my parents' house. It's very simple and quick to make. Even my husband, who dislikes anything related to onions, finishes this shumai first. I loved the simple pork shumai I ate at home, so I asked for the recipe. Be careful not to eat too much rice with it!

Steps
- 1
Finely chop the onion and green onion, then mix with potato starch.
- 2
Add the seasonings marked with ○ and mix well.
- 3
Add the ground pork and knead well by hand.
- 4
To wrap the shumai, shape your left hand like this. The position of the middle finger is especially important as it forms the base.
- 5
Keep your fingers in this shape, place a shumai wrapper in your hand, drop the filling in with a spoon, and flatten it with the back of the spoon.
- 6
Place the shumai in a steamer and steam for about 15 minutes.
- 7
It's ready! Mustard soy sauce is delicious with it.

I made this again on August 6, 2007, and uploaded a photo.
