This sandwich has a beautiful, colorful cross-section and looks adorable!
Recipe background:
I remember seeing a similar recipe in a magazine a long time ago... Since my son loves imitation crab sticks, I made this version with whole sticks for him, and added mustard for a more grown-up flavor.

Serves 1 serving

4 slicessandwich bread (white bread, thin-sliced or from an 8-slice loaf)

1small carrot
1 packimitation crab sticks (stick-shaped)
Salt and pepper, to taste

Steps

Peel the carrot and cut it into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick matchsticks. Soften the carrot using your preferred method, then season lightly with salt and pepper.

Cut the imitation crab sticks in half.

Mix butter (or mayonnaise) with mustard and spread a thin layer on each slice of bread.

Arrange the carrot and imitation crab sticks alternately on one slice of bread, then top with another slice of bread.

Place a weight on the sandwich and let it sit for about 5 minutes.

Cut the sandwich into your desired size. Enjoy showing off the cute cross-section!
