Avocado Paratha (Kids' Special)
Avocado is a healthy fruit that is very beneficial for both the heart and brain. It is high in fiber, which helps you feel full for a long time.
Steps
- 1
Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Use only half of the avocado. Scoop out the pulp and mash it well.
- 2
In a bowl, combine 1 cup flour, the mashed avocado pulp, roasted cumin powder, and salt. Set aside the remaining 1/2 cup flour. Mix everything together and knead into a dough. Gradually add the remaining 1/2 cup flour as needed. I used about 1 tablespoon water to knead the dough, as the avocado pulp helps bring it together. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into small balls (pedas).
- 3
Roll each ball slightly, sprinkle a little ghee and dry flour in the center, then fold and roll out into a paratha. Place the paratha on a hot skillet (tawa).
- 4
Keep the heat on medium. When the bottom side is lightly cooked, flip the paratha and brush with a little ghee.
- 5
Flip again and brush the other side with ghee. The paratha will puff up nicely. Cook both sides, flipping as needed, until golden brown.
- 6
This paratha is very tasty and soft. Pack it in your kids' lunchbox—they will love it!
