These ladoos are very healthy and are specially made for lactating mothers. The garden cress seeds is a super food containing iron, calcium, and many vitamins like A, C, E. The seeds are good for bone health, hair growth and to increase hemoglobin. They are good for improving monthly cycles. However it is advised to have not more than 1 tsp seeds in a day. Hence the ladoos we are making are of small size.

Ingredients

15 min soaking time + 15 min cooking time.
25 ladoos
  • 100 gmgarden cress seeds (Aaliv)
  • 1/4 kgjaggery
  • 1 and 1/2grated fresh coconuts
  • 4 tspghee
  • 1/4 tspcardamom powder
  • a pinch ofnutmeg powder
  • 1 tbspcashews flakes
  • 1 tbspalmonds flakes
  • 1/2 cupcoconut water

Steps

15 min soaking time + 15 min cooking time.
  1. 1

    Soak aaliv seeds with freshly grated coconut and half cup of coconut water. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.

    Now heat the pan and add 2 tsp ghee. add chopped nuts and fry till crisp. remove the fried nuts in a plate. add coconut and seeds mixture into the pan and stir for a while.

    Now add finely crushed jaggery and mix well. add 2 tsp ghee.

  4. 4

    Cook for 15 min on low to medium flame. add cardamom and nutmeg powder. finally add fried nuts.

  5. 5

    Let jaggery melt and form a thick mixture.

  6. 6

    When the mixture is little warm, shape into small sized ladoos.

Tips

Always soak seeds for better taste. Otherwise they will taste little bitter.
When the mixture is little warm, it will be easy to shape into small ladoos.
Consume only one ladoo in a day.
