In a saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and cornstarch. Whisk well, then place over medium heat. Continue stirring constantly until the mixture starts to boil. Add the butter and vanilla extract, stir quickly, then remove from heat.

Add the whipped topping mix and beat with an electric mixer for 5 minutes. Pour the mixture into serving glasses and let cool to room temperature.

Refrigerate for 2 hours. Before serving, garnish with grated chocolate or nuts. Enjoy!
