Steps

Preheat oven to 425.

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Add the butter and rub in until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Add sugar, then pour in the milk.

Mix together with a metal spoon to form a dough.

Place on a floured surface and knead lightly.

Roll out to a thickness of 1in.

Cut into circles with a cutter.

Place in a baking pan and sprinkle with flour.

Bake 7-10 min. Until risen and golden.

Allow to cool.

Serve with butter and jam.
