I love making things from scratch—it tastes better and you know exactly what goes into your food. That’s why I decided to share my recipe for homemade hamburger buns.

Steps
- 1
Mix the flour, salt, and sugar together, then make a well in the center and add the yeast.
- 2
Add the milk (make sure it’s slightly warm) while stirring until everything is combined.
- 3
Add the lightly beaten egg and then the olive oil. Knead until you have a smooth dough that doesn’t stick to your hands.
- 4
With lightly floured hands, shape the dough into a ball and let it rest for 1 1/2 hours.
- 5
After the dough has rested, place it on a lightly floured surface and gently press out some of the air with your fingertips.
- 6
Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape each into a bun, stretching the dough so it will rise well. Let them rest for another 45 minutes.
- 7
After resting, carefully brush the buns with a little water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes.
- 8
Serve and enjoy! Remember, you can also use these buns for an afternoon snack, not just for hamburgers.
