- Tomatoes quartered. 3 Canned whole peeled tomatoes cut in quarters(substitute for fresh tomatoes) • whole Garlic bulbs peeled (1tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp garlic salt substitute for fresh garlic) • whole Onion quartered. (1 tsp onion powder and 1/2 tsp onion salt substitute for fresh onion) • Jalapeño quartered (1 tsp ground red pepper and 1/2 tsp black pepper substitute for jalapeños) also can use jar peppers if using canned tomatoes I suggest 1/2 cup canned jalapeños • Cilantro • Limes quartered • Avocado quartered (optional for thickness) • tomatillos roasted and quartered (optional)
