I made this dish according to your recipe, but I changed it first, I added 2 tbs of butter, and I used black seed instead of sesame seeds. Also i didn`t Use asafoetida and cumin becuse i did not know that what is it!!
I think it tastes like chips, it is very crunchy and delicious 😋
I ate this food several years ago, which was made by an Indian woman. I think that she was called Nourke ..

Dear if it tastes hard add 1 to 2 teaspoons hot oil or butter to the dough and knead again.

First fry only one or two Chakli and taste it wether its hard or crispy. If it seems hard then you can add 1tbsp of hot oil or butter into the rest of the dough.
