  1. 2 1/4 cupsflour - I make this somewhat heaping
  2. 1 tspbaking soda
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 1 cupbutter (2 sticks), softened
  5. 3/4 cupsugar
  6. 3/4 cupbrown sugar, packed
  7. 1 tspvanilla
  8. 2eggs
  9. 2 cupssemi-sweet chocolate morsels, (12 oz.) - I add them while still frozen
  10. 1 cupchopped nuts, optional - I usually don’t add nuts

    Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.

    Beat (or use electric mixer) butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a separate large mixing bowl.

    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; gradually mix in flour mixture.

    Stir in morsels (and nuts).

    Drop by rounded tablespoon (I usually do a generous Tablespoon) onto un-greased baking sheets.

    Bake in preheated 375F oven for 9 to 11 minutes (depending on the size of each cookie- I usually go with more underdone rather than overdone…they tend to turn out softer) or until golden brown.

    Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

    Pan cookie variation, prepare dough as above. Spread into greased 15x10-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake in preheated 375 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
