Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  1. 6eggs
  2. 190 gsugar
  3. 190 gwheat flour
  4. 10 mlvanilla essence
  5. 50 gbutter
  6. 100 gstrawberry jam
  7. 200 mlwhipping cream (sweetened)

Cooking Instructions

    Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and line your baking tray with grease proof paper.

    Beat sugar, eggs and vanilla essence together until pale and thick.

  3. 3

    Fold in flour and melted butter. Pour the batter into the greased baking tray and place in the oven. Bake for less than 12 minutes and be careful not to over bake.

    While the sponge is baking, sprinkle sugar over a square grease proof paper. Warm the jam in the microwave for 10 seconds.

    Turn the baked sponge onto the sugared paper. Peel off the lining paper and spread the sponge with the warm jam. Roll up from the short edge using the paper to help you then cool on a wire rack

    Using whipped whipping cream, cream the Swiss roll (cake should be cold)
