Vickys Scottish Deep-Fried Mars Bar, No, I'm Not Joking!!

Bet you didn't know this was a national treasure! All the way from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, I present to you, the deep fried Mars bar!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Chill the chocolate bars in the fridge.
Mix the flours and baking soda together, then add the beer or milk until you get a batter with the consistency of single cream - 2
Heat the oil until a small piece of bread will turn brown in a few seconds, but don't allow it to smoke.
Coat the unwrapped chocolate bars completely in batter, then carefully lower them into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. It literally takes 5 seconds - 3
Serve with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce, or if you're like me and my friends in the mid-1990's, fries!

This joke recipe became a massive trend in the mid nineties, starting off in a chip shop in Stonehaven, near Aberdeen, Scotland. A local newspaper ran a story on it and before long it became national news and every chip shop in Britain was battering 200-300 Mars Bars a week! Sounds a bit gross but it's actually delicious! You couldn't eat a whole one though! The chocolate melts and the middle goes gooey and gorgeous

I had another blondie recipe uploaded but had trouble converting it to be gluten-free. Some recipes are fickle! So I rewrote it and this one admittedly is much better. The addition of the coconut gives an extra chewiness Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

I am so pleased with how this turned out! A fusion of the raw vegan cheesecake base and the avocado chocolate mousse I previously posted which work brilliantly together for a truly decadent dessert! Tastes almost like a chocolate brownie! If you can't use almonds use 1/4 of the ground weight in coconut flour instead, around 20g, and vanilla extract! Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

Dates are a great ingredient. I use them a lot to make vegan 'caramel' sweets for my son. These taste like fruity flapjacks and if anyone wonders what UK digestive biscuits taste like, they taste like the cookie layer in these! Vicky@Jacks Free-From Cookbook -

Super easy , and good!I made this for Valentine’s Day for the family, but you can use plain M&M’s or any holiday kind. This is good for any holiday or party, events, cookouts , bbq , pot lucks . I cheated and used a cookie bag mix , because I was being lazy , but I do make the cookie mix from the recipe when I have the time or the ingredients , both ways are great... and easy. 🌈NinjaMommaKitchen🌈 -
Rich Chocolate Pudding❤with a Single Chocolate Bar❤ Rich Chocolate Pudding❤with a Single Chocolate Bar❤
The ingredients are an easy-to-make amount for a single bar of chocolate. I wanted to make a chilled dessert. The chocolate bar I initially bought at a convenient store weighed about 60-65 g. Now it's 58 g, but the slight fluctuation makes no difference. If you steam at low heat from the beginning, the fat from the chocolate becomes firm at the surface and forms double layers. Well, that's tasty in it's own way. Chill well before serving♪ Recipe by Asamato cookpad.japan -
Millionaire Bars (Caramel Shortbread Bars) Millionaire Bars (Caramel Shortbread Bars)
This caramel shortbread bar has been around a long time. In trying to find its origin it seems most likely to have started in Scotland when milk, eggs and sugar were in short supply. So the caramel was made with a sweetend condensed milk. There are a few variations on the recipe but all have a shortbread crust, then a soft caramel layer topped with melted chocolate. My version adds toffee bits and a blend of chocolate topping. The darker you cook the caramel the firmer it will become. My bars have a soft consistancy. These bars are really simple to make and are delicious! fenway -

I wanted to eat a sweet and rich brownie so I came up with this recipe. If you bake the brownie for too long it won't have a good texture so be careful not to overcook it. I used three 65 g bars of dark chocolate. I also used unsweetened cocoa. Recipe by Raby cookpad.japan -
