I saw this recipe on a video made by someone in the UK. I wanted to try it, and I wanted to get the ingredients and measurements written down. She added tomato slices to hers before she put it in the oven. She served this with baked beans and bacon strips.

Ingredients

  1. 4 lbsYukon Potatoes, peeled and cubed
  2. 16 ozblock White Sharp Cheddar Cheese, thinly sliced
  3. 1large onion, diced
  4. 2 tbsOil
  5. 4 tbsButter
  6. 3 tbsMilk

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Peel and cube potatoes. Boil until soft. Drain.

    While potatoes are boiling, dice onion and fry in oil until soft.

    Put potatoes in large bowl, add butter and milk, and mash potatoes.

    Add cooked onion to mashed potatoes and mix.

    Spray 8x8 baking dish with cooking spray.

    Start with layer of potatoes, then layer of cheese. Keep alternating potatoes and cheese until both are used. About 4 layers, ending with cheese on top.

    Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
