Cooking Instructions

Mix both the flours, add salt and moin, gradually adding water, knead soft dough. Knead it well with greased hands until smooth and soft. Cover it for 10 mins.

Make small balls of equal size and roll 2 puris from it.

Apply oil on both the puris and sprinkle some dry flour on it.

Cover one with the other puri and roll it gently to the desired size. We can sprinkle dry flour if needed.

Heat the tawa. Roast the sheets at low flame on both the sides very lightly. Separate both the sides. Repeat for the remaining dough.

Our Spring roll wrappers are ready.Cover the wrappers in mal cloth when cool, store them in a box and refrigerate. Use when needed and enjoy...

Chicken spring rolls
I don’t make spring rolls on a regular basis. The reason being that they come out too oily and end up being soggy. This time I decided to make some and freeze some for Ramadan coming up soon.Spring rolls is a nice variation to samosas for iftar.I made a chicken and vegetable filling. The filling is very delicious and can be used for fried rice, or noodles. These Chicken Spring Rolls are light with crisp-crackly skin and small enough to enjoy in 4 bites.Chicken Spring Rolls is prepared and cooked the same way as you do your average spring roll. It is important that the wrap is sealed properly so that it will not break open while frying.To freeze these rolls, simply place the unfried rolls in a zip-lock bag and freeze. Whenever you want to use them, remove the bag from the freezer and bring to room temperature before frying.It is simple to make and tastes wonderful.


Spring Rolls
Note: for crispy spring rolls - use the least liquid when preparing filling for the rolls. Too much liquid will soften the rolls. Choose the right meat/vegetables that will not turn soggy or retain liquid once cooked. As for dried shiitake mushrooms, soak them in boiling water to soften. Squeeze the liquid out & then mince. Add shredded veggies last to retain its crunchiness/freshness. Cook for a minute or less, just to combine. Fry spring rolls in hot oil (use medium high heat when frying). Once rolls start to turn light golden brown both sides, remove immediately. Bok Choy Prawn Spring Roll
Use filo pastry to make those lovely prawn spring rolls. Adding in Bok choy is simply because I want kids to have some vegetables in their diets so try to hide some greens in the spring rolls. 😜 Crispy wraps filling with fresh prawn and bok choy mixture.... Hellooo!Been a long time since I uploaded something. I took some time off the internet, but when I did use the internet, I usually watch K Dramas and Youtube videos instead 😆 I needed to stay sane at times like this you know.Anyway, this dish is so good and crispy and sweet, nice to pair with some hot black tea or coffee, hope you like it!Ps: I used "pisang nangka" which means literally "jackfruit banana" which is suitable for frying, don't use cavendish as it will go mushy, please use any banana or plantain that is suitable for frying. Since last year’s kitchen accident when I burnt my face with hot oil, I am still reluctant to fry food in hot oil. I baked these Spring Rolls in the oven. You may prefer frying them. I believe fried ones taste better, but these baked ones are healthier, and it is much easier to clean up.

Needed to do a salty healthy snack and had some crunchy veg ideas ..so went for this trial run of hopefully trying it as a shallow fry version ..well if it doesn't work then ..Make smaller ones instead, as long as doesn't drench the Oil (here they were slightly on oily side!!).you can use meat/fish fillings too .also you can make the simlple green chutney to go with it or raita ..which gives another level to these ,and healthy too.Or just simply can hav by them selves.(note that.these tend to loose there crunch after a while)
