Small Onion Bhaji's

When I have occasionally made Indian Onion Bhaji's,have only ever used Turmeric Powder, have come across Turmeric Root in ASDA's (U.K Supermarket) - have bought it and used it once before in recent years, can stain your finger tips - yellow.Adding Turmeric Root in some way too your raw savoury Pancake Batter will probably give more flavour of Turmeric to your Onion Bhaji's - depending on how much you use.
Paprika is more Hungarian than Indian, maybe a mild chilli powder as an alternative to Turmeric Powder.Am not quite sure on the deep fat frying process - have always in the Past - when I rarely make homemade Onion Bhaji's - have always deep fried them off in extremely hot Cooking Oil,but my Onion Bhaji's might be better deep fried at the 140 mark first and then at end,180 mark.

I bought a small - round - Electric Deep Fat Fryer - for me and my mum in the month of August 2020 - from my Amazon Prime Membership, the small Electric Deep Fat Fryer cost about £20.00 - my mum contributed half of the money towards it.The Vegetable Oil has too be changed frequently after each 8 small bhaji's - can only deep fry 4 at a time.I don't recommend using the metal basket that it comes with - it is so small - put some Plain Flour on a Dinner Plate - put 4 Dessert Spoons of raw bhaji batter mix on the floured plate, sprinkle a teaspoon of Plain Flour over the top of each small bhaji - and then hold Dinner Plate over the Electric Deep Fat Fryer and then with the back of the Dessert Spoon - plop each small bhaji into the warm Vegetable Oil within the small Electric Deep Fat Fryer.
