A little too sweet for my taste. Really tasted orangey! ;-) Kids loved it, tho, over rice. Chicken was tender :nod

It was very bad, to much orange flavoring in it for my taste.

This was fairly easy and tasted pretty good. We didn't have marmalade, so I used more brown sugar and OJ. Also added some ground ginger and minced garlic. It was delicious. We will be making this again, but adding some peppers next time. Yum!

Made this last night. I added some more sugar and made a batter from a mix and substituted the water in the batter for orange juice and added a bit of hot sauce and red pepper. It was a lot of work but totally worth it I'm salivating thinking about it!

I enjoyed it, but the sauce wasn't thick enough to coat the chicken as well as I wanted.

very disappointed with this recipe..... in order to make this recipe actually taste good you have to tweak the entire recipe.

I didn't understand some parts of the directions (probably because I'm a noob in the kitchen), but it still tasted and looked great.

Really great recipe! Add your own spices to make it your own. I used Chinese 5 spice and red pepper flakes. Garnished with toasted sesame seeds and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Really tasty and simple to make. Try adding five spice to your flour to bring out the Chinese flavour!

Add a bit of soy sauce, and a dash of lemon juice - thicken with cornstarch to help the sauce stick better

My family loved this recipe! So much I couldn't even get a picture! I double battered my chicken so it was a lil more crunchy! ~:>

really disapointed. i'm not an amatuer in the kitchen but this recipe is really frustrating. the recipe is missing ingrendients and important things like cook time. i found the sauce 'orangy' but too sweet and not enough punch for someone who really enjoys orange chicken (china cottage in dayton has the best!). you can cut the sauce recipe in half because even with 1 pound of chicken you will throw most of it away. this is a pass for me.

Made this with some spiced up rice and love it. The sweetness from the chicken played well with the spicy rice.

This recipe turned out really good. I didn't add the orange peel and turned the heat up to broil at the end. I wish I had gotten more of that orange chicken type coating.... but it was good!

First time making orange chicken and I worked around this recipe as I was uncertain on some instructions. Left out peel, used about 1/3 cup of juice, replaced sugar with honey, added 1-2 tbsp soy sauce mixed with about 1.5 tbsp of corn starch to thicken orange sauce, and added cayenne, ginger, onion, and garlic powder . I also blended 1 cup flour, about 1/3 cup corn starch, 1-2 tsp each of cayenne, ginger, onion, and garlic powder. Coated bite-sized chicken pieces in flour mix, then in whisked egg, then back in flour. I deep fried the chicken as it was faster. The end result was surprisingly good!

I didn't like this recipe as it is. the chicken should be lightly salted first and the sauce should be thicker. what I did do was baste the chicken every 10 _15 minutes with the additional sauce. Half cup of brown sugar should be used and make sure your orange juice is sweet. 1 tsp grated orange peel. Add tsp salt to the sauce. 30 to 40 min in a 350 degrees oven then 5 min under the broiler on low. This time is approximate. will come out with more flavor and a bit more crisp! B-)

I made this last night for my family. It was a complete hit! Not to mention my family is not a fan of oranges. I doubled the recipe and found it wasn't necessary to double the sauce. I threw a tonnnn away. Also, the sauce is a little thin. Next time I will try less OJ. Thanks!

In addition there's no other orange chicken recipe that has the this few ingredients. This recipe is missing so much and it sucks. I totally wasted my time and my chicken.

I made the orange chicken for dinner tonight. I made enough for a crowd so i played with the recipe. I used one can of orange juice concentrate, one can of water, nearly a full jar of marmalade, used honey instead of brown sugar, left out the orange peel. I added ginger, cayenne pepper, garlic salt and allspice to the flour beading and the same spices to the sauce. When the sauce tasted right bit didn't thicken up, I made a slurry of cornstarch and water to thicken. It turned out beautifully. Got rave reviews from everyone! :ohyeaah

Very tasty. I halved the recipe, using 1 ten oz. breast. I zested a navel orange into the sauce then squeezed the orange yielding 1/4 cup juice. Will add a pinch of paprika or cayenne next time. Served wth brown jasmine rice.

My family really liked this, including my 11 yr old son...(my biggest critic). I took the suggestion of adding red pepper flakes to the sauce. I also mixed sliced scallions up with the chicken/sauce mixture right before I put it in the oven. Will make again :ar!

Too sweet for my tastes, but my girlfriend liked it. I wont be cooking it again, but would probably leave out the sugar and orange peel if I did. If you like sweet dishes, you will enjoy it quite a bit more than I did.
