L's Easy Schnitzel

Sigrun
Sigrun @sigrun
The name Wiener Schnitzel (as spelled in the German language ) means a cutting of meat .
The name itself means cutting of meat from Vienna (Austrias capital) .
Traditionally prepared Wiener Schnitzel is a thin rather large piece of veal. The veal is rolled in flour , next in egg and breadcrumbs. It us fried until golden brown.
I am German and in Germany at least where I come from and was born Wiener Schnitzel is made with veal and as stated
However other Schnitzel are made with pork , chicken or turkey these are normaly served with different sauces, mushroom, bell pepper , sweet and sour or other variations.
I have not seen a schnitzel made with dark or red meat .
Hope this helps. :-) :positive

Sorry to disappoint you guys but Wiener Schnitzel is NOT German. As a big hint you can take the word Wien which is the German word for Vienna - the capital city of Austria.
I'm from Austria btw

I use thinly sliced pork, and crumbled Ritz crackers instead if bread crumbs. DELISH! A family fave.

You are both wrong. Schnitzel is the method they used in Weiner Schnitzel, Germany. It can be made with any meat.

Tried the recipe and turned out great. A few tweeks, pound chicken breast (or pork) and added butter to oil.
