Never made home made but it sounds lush. John Lewis sell muslin but advise it’s not suitable for food. Could you tell me where the best place is to buy it?

Hi Laura, I think John Lewis are being a bit over cautious! As long as it’s clean there shouldn’t be any problem - I just looked again at the photo I posted and the cloth I used was from an old cotton sheet. You can buy jelly bags for straining from kitchen shops if you want, but honestly, any clean cotton fabric will be fine. I would put it in a basin and pour boiling water on it first to make sure it’s 100% clean. Good luck with you marmalade! X

@FeelBetter I use an old cotton pillow case when I make boiled puddings. As long as you sterilise everything, you can use any cotton sheet/pillowcase. Muslin is technically cotton fabric :)
