Tator Tot Casserole

(Blondie) @cook_2695085
I add green beans with cream of mushroom soup and mix hamburger all together then top with tator tots then add cheese serve with sour cream on top

Just a little bit of a conversion in changing taste up a bit but we love tater tot casserole ... you can add other things to vary this up and it's just as tasty. Corn, green beans, potato chicken creamy soup rather than mushroom. Possibilities are endless so create! Have fun with it. Hard to mess this up. Oh. And it helps to drizzle a little creamy soup on top of tater tots and sprinkle cheese on top as well. :)

It is a really good recipe, but I added Taco seasoning to the ground beef wich gave it a TexMex flavor....family loved it !
Carrie1229 @cook_2750905
Super good! Instead of onion, added French fried onions and oh my gosh...

Try being more descriptive in your cooking directions. Learning to spell before posting helps you look less uneducated.

This is a great recipe! My adjustments were 2 cans of golden mushroom soup, the beef and soup on the bottom, and added a can of mushrooms. I want to adjust it a bit more but I was happy how delicious and simple this recipe is

JustNik @cook_2857124
I think I'm gonna try this, but add more seasoning along with some corn and green beans....
K.C @cook_2857778
I make mine in my slow cooker. Tatter tots bacon peices shredded cheese diced chicken. Layers end with tatter tots bacon and cheese. Pour over 1 & 3/4 cup milk. Cook on slow for bout 5 - 6 hours. Kids go nuts for it. Best kids sleep over dinner :)
Ladystar416 @cook_2876146

SpiceMama @cook_2981610
I've made this casserole with a quite similar recipe but I will add a can of chopped green chilies. Changes the entire finish!

Takkage @cook_2991164
Made this tonight with a friend for our signifigant others. We added veggies to the beef, as well as substituting cream of mushroom with cream of chicken. We also added bacon ontop of the top layer of cheese. It came out amazing. Would make again!

amommy42 @cook_3060137
this was tastier than I'd anticipated. I did saute the onions first as well as a few mushrooms. I also reversed the order to have the tots on top so they'd crisp. my kids devoured it. will make again for sure.

amytheirishmermaid @cook_3062566
you never outgrow the tots!!!! This recipe makes a great meal on a busy day....love it! :-)
anelson100 @cook_3067704

annabean @cook_3074350

bitofawitch @cook_3125820
Made this last night...used a can of cheese soup and a can of CR. of potato soup in the beef...and about a tsp. of garlic powder...Delicious! 16 oz. of colby-Jack cheese layered over both the tots then over the top...was very cheesy...next time Ill cut it back to 8 oz. family of 3 slurped up the whole pan!!!
A HIT!!! THANKS!!!
A HIT!!! THANKS!!!

blackbetty79 @cook_3127224
This was a hit in my family. My husband raved over this. It will be on our regular menu :-)
briedle1 @briedle
I use a can of cheddar cheese sauce instead of cream of celery. Cheesier! Plus I put the ground beef down then top it off w/the rest of the ingredients. Topping it all off w/grated cheddar cheese.
butterflylovers1956 @cook_3153330
delicious! I just put everything all together and let it cook for an hour. This is such a delicious and easy dish.

Cheryl Newkirk Skillman @cook_3186191
Oh my goodness... This was awful. Must be an acquired taste?? Some people seem to love it but will never be making this again.
christine.whitt.1 @cook_3195592
I thought it lacked flavor, hubby thought it was too salty. not a horrible dish it was okay.
cookininkinggeorge @cook_3212297
this dish wasn't bad, but it didn't have a lot of good flavor either. kinda bland.

baker bitch @cook_3103402
my mother used to make this when I was a child. I hated it!! it had to be one of my most despised foods ever...now as an adult, I. realized she didn't know how to cook!! even this simple dish....
my only advice is to add lots of soup to make it really creamy. I personally only use "golden mushroom soup". it makes all the difference in the recipe.
I hate to admit that my family and I love this dish....
also, I use two kinds of cheese. a good brand of Cheddar and a creamy melty white cheese!!! and lots of it. also for the last 5 minutes I put it on broil so the tots get crispy...

emcdonald814 @cook_3292875

feisty.terrell @cook_3311972
gonna attempt to make this again. the kids loved it and I didnt so much. BUT..... I didnt have this recipe. so. mind didnt have ground beef. gonna give this a shot, just with only one cream of wte. 2 cans is too much cream for me.
heffer1083 @cook_3363550
Add top layer of cheese and then bake for a few more minutes to prevent browning .

jaqi04 @cook_3404382
I make this often kiddos love it but to change it up try using sausage instead of ground beef yummmm
jjrose362 @cook_3436074
many variations. I use beef, green beans and corn mixed with the meat and soup. I use one can of cheese soup and one of cream of mushroom or cream of celery. I add the cheese on top near the end of the cooking. last 10 minutes or so.

jnt2011 @cook_3440860

kcallaghanbixler @cook_3486086
I make mine with sausage and call it a breakfast casserole. You can add scrambled eggs too.

kellykc @cook_3490996
I made this tonight. I only used 1 can of cheese soup cuz I halved the recipe. I put the tater toys on too. It was really quick and tasted great. :-)

kim.price.1272 @cook_3501003
Sorry I didn't like this one at all. I love cheese but way too much cheese in this...and I didn't know too much cheese was even possible. The soup and the cheese didn't mesh for me. and the cook time was too long. not sure why everyone is loving this. We were not even able to eat it. Had to throw it away.
kwebb2109 @cook_3522358
Turned out great!! I added a drained can of corn and a drained can on green beans.....great flavor and the family loved it!
lilysmom11 @cook_3549673
I have a very large family and I'm always looking for good recipes that will feed all of us without spending a fortune. this is a great meal!! The whole family enjoyed it. malcomfamily4 @cook_3583817

mkallen @cook_3642426

mooner.hines @cook_3652816
I made this for my wife & I. We both loved it. Will be making this again.

monstergrl823 @cook_3652066
you could even sprinkle the top of the tator tots with some seasoning from red robin ...for those of you who know what that is.

ms. li @cook_3660960
I have made this dish in the past and my grandchildren loved it. I only used half of the potatoes and layered the ingredients,. it was great.

nickolebilinski @cook_3688691
Was amazing! I used chicken and instead of cream of mushroom, I used cream of chicken. it was a big hit!
Renee Fuqua @cook_3754297
Was really good! My husband and kids loved it. I used 2 pounds of ground beef instead of 1 pound and covered it with foil.

Valerie Runstrom @cook_3789620
I make this all the time but I don't use cream of celery soup my family love it

scootsie19 @cook_3814474
This was a really amazing recipe! I left out the canned soup and replaced it with fresh veggies sautéed and a little cream.

skyler.swift @cook_3847591

I made this last week .I used turkey burger and cream of chicken mushroom instead of celery..everyone loved it! will make again :positive
tlaboy36 @cook_3917602
turned out to mushie for my taste and the cheese on top was a little to crunchie, tasted like a homebake meal from the box :suspicious

Lori @NanaNAlena5410
Good flavor but next time going to put meat first than tator tots over meat.. Tator tots on bottom came out little mushy..

barnowl @barnowl
This was delicious! Added one chopped red bell pepper and some frozen sweet corn, along with the chopped onion, as I browned 2 pounds of ground beef. Seasoned the meat with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Used one can each of golden mushroom, cream of mushroom, and nacho cheese soup and a little milk. Put the tots on top so they got crispy. Will definitely make it again! ~(o.o)~
zdubs @zackdub1200
If you add green chilis, corn, and fresh mushrooms as well as crushed ritz crackers on top at the end of cook cycle...this dish is kapow!
