Do you mix bbq sauce with the root beer that pork was cooked in?

i add the bbq sauce at the end after it is shredded up. it all mixes together quite well

Very sweet but good, I want to try it again with some slight tweaks since I like my pulle pork more hearty than sweet. Super easy to make and leftovers are amazing!
