I have not yet tryed individual steaks in the Sous Vide. What's your opinion on it vs grilling steaks? I like the two flavor combinations!

I actually like both. Grilling always gives that smoky flavor nothing else can match, but with the Sous Vide, you are always going to have a tender steak, so both have their advantages.

Yes, I did that one Rafa posted. I loved it, and made it a bunch of times. Also, my machine is a Anova, they have an app that has tones of recipes to try. Check it out

I down loaded the app, Thank you!! I have the Sous Vide Supreme, they don't have a lot in the recipe help, I do like the machine though. The rib roast recipe I did was Rafas as well!

Sous vide is awesome. Try briefly indirectly smoking a steak with a quick sear before sous vide to get the grill flavor....looks good!

Before? so would you still pan sear after or is that taking the place ofbrowning?

I would sear it very quickly after a brief smoking just to caramelize the sugars and add another dimension of flavor, just a whacky idea

all is well. we are on the other side of the country, but do have some family near there. They haven't had to leave yet, but they are in the path
