Not in this case. I edited the recipe a bit to make this more clear. I think the recipe I adapted this from was worded similarly, so I thought it might be clear, but I totally agree that sugar is generally considered a dry ingredient. This is one of my favorite recipes. Very simple, but it uses an interesting technique. Still, it's not too complicated that it makes it difficult to get really great results. The original recipe calls for apples.

Is in the oven now. I will post the picture in an hour. My baking / cake dish is a bit large. Still . We will see.

Should be fine if you keep an eye on it. Probably a shorter baking time.
