I'm making this as i am commenting. I can't wait to see how this turns out. . I just wanted to offer a suggestion.. if, at the end, you cut a slice down to the bone you take a chance of having the juices seep out quickly and you risk it becoming dry.

i have a 22 lb turkey... should i double the recipe? my mom always made her turkey with 7-up and i never knew how.

No need to double the recipe just fill the roasting pan with enough 7up to be about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of 7up for the Turkey to cook in 😁
