Ingredients

15 minutes
3-4 persons
  1. 1-2seedless dates
  2. 1small lemon size ball of seedless tamarind
  3. 3-4 tbspjaggery powder
  4. as per tasteSalt
  5. 1/4th tsp Red chilli powder
  6. 1 tspcoriander powder
  7. 1 tsproasted cumin and dry red chilli powder
  8. 200 mlWater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Place a kadhai, add dates, tamarind, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder.

    Boil them till the flavours combine. Next add into it roasted cumin and dry red chillies powder. Continue cooking.

    Add jaggery powder. Mix. Continue cooking. Slowly jaggery dissolves, thickness of the mixture increases. As the water evaporates and you find a perfect consistency. Switch the flame off.

    Let it cool. Grind into a smooth chutney. If required strain.
    Consistency depends upon your preference.

    Dates tamarind chutney is ready..

    Use it to add flavor to your hot samosas and alu chop.
