Cashew Apple also known as Rose Apple is an accessory Fruit (not a real Fruit) is about 3 times larger than the original one and is Reddish or Yellow in colour. These are put to many a uses and are mostly available in the markets in early Summers.
It's very low in Cholesterol and Sodium and is a good source of Phosphorus, Manganese and Copper.
It can be eaten as it is with a little Salt and Pepper. Or can also be enjoyed as a chilled glass of Juice as well.
Cashew liquor is another major business in Countries where it's available.
It's a tangy Fruit, slightly sweet and astringent in nature. The Juice has antioxidants in substantial quantities and has Fiber and Vitamin C in abundance. Cashewnuts are more famous in Countries where the Fruit is difficult to procure but the Nut is loved and consumed.
The Month of Ramadan has passed but it's the last day of fasting for the Month of Shawwal today. Enjoy this super yummy drink if you are in India at this time of the Season like me.
Happy Fasting for the Month of Shawwal!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
