The story behind this recipe: With recent price increases, I was hesitant to use a lot of bread flour... I prefer my bread rolls soft, so I tried making them with only all-purpose flour (huge success!!). If you want to save even more, you can replace the egg with water!

Ingredients

Makes 4 rolls
  1. 200 gall-purpose flour
  2. 4 gdry yeast
  3. 20 gsugar
  4. 25 gbutter
  5. 3 gsalt
  6. 1egg
  7. Water combined with egg to make 120g total

Cooking Instructions

    Put all the ingredients into a bread machine and let it complete the first rise. *Of course, hand-kneading is also fine!

    Divide the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.

    Roll the dough into a rectangle, then roll it up from the far end towards you.
