They dont. The coffee grinds turn white from mold after a week,, when watered daily. They turn white. I also use horse manure, potting soil, and sawdust. No flavor transfer. Good question !

No, the coffee grinds dissolve into white fertilizer, no trace flavors of coffee grinds, sawdust or other growth media.
