A delicious, kid-friendly and adult-approved recipe that's a fun twist on traditional kunafa.

Take the kunafa dough out of the freezer and either chop it in a food processor or break it up by hand.

Melt the ghee or butter and mix it thoroughly with the kunafa dough.

Place the mixture in a wide skillet or baking pan. Toast it on the stovetop, stirring constantly, until it turns a deep golden brown. Alternatively, bake it under the broiler, stirring every few minutes until evenly golden.

Prepare the kunafa syrup (simple syrup) or use honey.

Layer the toasted kunafa in cups or molds: start with a layer of kunafa, drizzle with syrup, add chocolate, sprinkle with nuts, then add another layer of kunafa.

Invert onto a serving plate and top with more chocolate and nuts as desired. Enjoy!
