Hubby and son's favorite breakfast food! Quick and easy! Saves time cooking both the egg and bread together.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Butter both sides of the slices of bread. I used margarine.
- 2
Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut a hole in the middle.
- 3
Put a dollop of butter or margarine on a heated skillet. Let it get hot. Place the slice of bread in the center. Break an egg into the hole.
- 4
The egg may leak out under the slice. Don't worry. Let the egg turn white and firm up. Quickly flip it over and let it cook. If you like your yolks runny, don't cook too long. Voila! Egg cooked and toast made all in one step!

Fluffy French Toast
I came up with this recipe by completely infusing the bread with the egg mixture, then slowly frying it until it's entirely cooked through.4-slice bread (3-cm thick slices) give a fluffy and delicious finish. They burn easily, so fry over low heat. Be sure to cover the pan with a lid. The time it takes to cook will vary depending on the thickness of the bread. I used thick sliced (3 cm) bread. Crispy in an Oven French Toast
A recipe for oven-baked French toast was on display in a bakeware shop near my house, but the recipe used such a tiny amount of liquid. So I modified the recipe in such a way that I thought it would suit my family's tastes better. There's usually no rings free on the hob in the morning as everyone's making their packed lunches, so recipes like this that don't require a frying pan are so handy. Pictured is the recipe made with Danish bread. With this amount of egg mixture you can soak 4 slices of an 8 slice loaf of bread, but please shorten the baking time slightly. The egg mixture will probably not be enough to do 4 slices of an 6 loaf bread, so add one more egg to ensure the bread gets saturated. Note that this will result in a stronger egg taste and the overall result will be less sweet. Recipe by nemarin

I always make these when I accumulate leftover crust, since sandwich bread is expensive. My mother used to make this for me when I was a child, and now, it's my children's favorite breakfast. When flipping it over, it is better to use a spatula, but since it is made from crust, it may crumble. I first transfer it to a plate, then flip it over into the pan. For 4 servings. Recipe by Nayuho

I had half a loaf of stale bread that I'd bought a week and a half ago before the lockdown began, so I did this to revive it. Without any other added ingredients it can be eaten savoury or sweet as one likes. The egg and milk in the proportions given seem to be almost exactly enough for six slices of sandwich bread.

Fluffy Creamy French Toast
I've been making French toast this way for a long time. I made them with soy milk this time. For those who want to make a low-calorie version:Use soy milk. Instead of sugar, I use 1 teaspoon of an erythritol-based low-calorie sweetener, and leave out the butter and oil.The key is to thoroughly infuse the bread with the egg mixture. Soaking overnight gives a perfect result. If you're in a hurry, let the bread soak for at least 20 minutes. For 2 servings. Recipe by Karupinetto
