Steps
- 1
Take 1 cup Chana dal and soak for 3-4 hours. Drain it and add a green chilli, two cloves garlic and very few chopped ginger. Make a smooth paste. Add a pinch of salt and keep beating with a spoon or hand for 4-5 minutes to make the barfis fluffy.
- 2
Put a kadhai on stove and take some water and let it boil. Now take another plate and brush with little oil. Now put the dal paste on the plate and place it on a stand. Cover the kadhai with a lid or plate. Let it steam for 10 minutes.
- 3
Cut this dal cake into cubes or barfi. Now in a bowl take 2 tablespoon all purpose flour and 1 tablespoon cornflour. Add an egg and a little pinch of salt. Make a thick batter. Coat all the cubes in the batter and fry those on medium heat.
- 4
Now heat some oil in a pan. Add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilli and sauté. Add the cube pieces of onion and capsicum and fry for 2 minutes on medium flame and add 1/2 tablespoon salt. Now add one by one 1 tablespoon red chilli sauce, 1/2 tablespoon soya sauce, 2 tablespoons tomato sauce, 1/2 tablespoon vinegar and 1/2 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder and keep stirring.
- 5
Now in another bowl take some water and add 1 and half tablespoon cornflour. Pour the mixture in that pan. Let the gravy boil for 1 minute on high flame. Now add the fried barfi to the gravy and can add some sugar (optional).
