Perfect cooked Japanese rice

Here is the way I cook my sushi rice. Always come out lovely and fluffy. Simple recipe but it’s an essential method in every household 🍚

Prepare your rice and water

Wash Rice - put some rice in the saucepan and add plenty of water to the saucepan then gently stir and mix the rice well. When the water becomes cloudy with starch, pour the water away, repeat this step up to 3-5 times or until the water becomes clear.

Add the rice and water to your saucepan. The water level should be just under your finger’s first knuckle.

Put your saucepan on the stove, and bring to the boil (it will take about 5-8 min. Once boiling, turn the heat down to low and put the lid on. Let the rice simmer for about 15-20 mins.

Once the rice cooked, use a wooden spoon or plastic specular turn the rice over gently.
