Ingredients

  1. 1 cupPavta/Lima beans
  2. 2onions
  3. 2-3tomatoes
  4. 1/2 inchpiece of ginger
  5. 3-4 clovesgarlic
  6. 2-3green chillies
  7. 3-4 tablespoonsghee
  8. 2cloves
  9. 2cardamom
  10. 1black cardamom
  11. 3-4black pepper corns
  12. 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds
  13. 1/2 teaspoonMustard seeds
  14. Salt as per taste
  15. 1/2 teaspoonGaram masala powder
  16. 1/2 teaspoonCumin powder
  17. 1/2 teaspoonCoriander powder
  18. 1/2 teaspoonKashmiri Red chilli powder
  19. 1/2 teaspoonSpicy red chilli powder
  20. 1/4 teaspoonturmeric powder
  21. 1 tablespoonchopped coriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    Heat ghee in a pressure pan and add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them splutter. Add whole spices mentioned above.

    Make a puree of onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies, add this to the ghee.

    Once the onions oozes out oil add pureed tomatoes.

    Add all the seasoning powder mentioned above and also add salt.

    Mix well and let cook for 2 minutes.

    Add cleaned and washed lima beans to the sauted masalas.

  7. 7

    Mix well and let it cook for some time.

    Add desired amount of water and boil for 2 minutes.

    Cover the pressure cooke and take 2-3 whistles.

    It's done, add chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve hot with chapatis or a bowl of steamed rice and plain dal.
