Ingredients

  • 1 cupleft over rice
  • 1 tablespoonyogurt
  • 1 cupgram flour
  • 75 mlwater
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 bowlcoriander
  • 1 tablespoonfresh dill
  • 1 teaspoongreen chilli paste
  • 1 teaspoonginger paste
  • 1 teaspoongarlic paste
  • 1/8 teaspoonturmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoonchilli powder
  • 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoonbaking soda
  • 1 tablespoonsesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoonchilli flakes
  • Oil for frying

Steps

    In a food processor add rice, gram flour, yogurt and water and blitz it to little corse paste.

  2. 2

    Remove in a bowl and add coriander leaves, dill, ginger, garlic, chilli paste, salt, turmeric, chilli powder and lemon juice. Mix well. It should be of thick consistency.
    Add water in a steamer and bring it to boil. Grease a tin to make dhokla. Finally add baking soda to batter and mix well. Transfer it to the greased tin and sprinkle sesame seeds and chilli flakes. Cover lid and steam for 12 to 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Let it cool. Remove the whole dhokla and cut in desired shapes.
    Heat oil on high temperature and deep fry the dhoklas until golden and crispy.
    Enjoy with a cup of tea.

I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
