Ingredients

Makes 20 servings
  • 4 cupsself-rising flour (about 500 grams)
  • 2 tablespoonssugar (about 30 grams)
  • 2eggs (for the dough)
  • Lemon zest or vanilla extract
  • 7 tablespoonsbutter or margarine (about 100 grams)
  • 3/4 cupwarm milk (about 175 ml)
  • 1egg (for brushing)

    In a bowl, combine the flour, butter, eggs, sugar, lemon zest or vanilla, and milk.

    Mix until you have a smooth dough.

    Knead the dough until it’s soft and not too sticky. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes, or until the dough doubles in size if possible.

    Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

  5. 5

    Cut the dough into triangles of your desired size and roll each one up from the base to the tip to form the crescent shape.

    Place the crescents on a baking sheet and brush with the beaten egg.

    Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
