On the special occasions of "Rath Yatra" we prepare some sweets at home. This time I am ready to prepare traditional bhog for "Lord Jagannath Swami". As it's my first try malpuas are not prepared in perfect shape but taste is awesome. My family like it so much.

On the special occasions of "Rath Yatra" we prepare some sweets at home. This time I am ready to prepare traditional bhog for "Lord Jagannath Swami". As it's my first try malpuas are not prepared in perfect shape but taste is awesome. My family like it so much.

In a bowl take all-purpose flour and milk powder, mix it well.

Add cardamom powder, fennel powder and cinnamon powder in it and mix well.

Gradually add milk in it and mix well. Adding milk make a smooth batter.

Make sure batter not to be too thick or too runny. If batter is too thin it's spread a lot and make thin malpuas. Very thick batter makes thick and dense malpuas.

Beat this batter with whisk for a few minutes so we get fluffy malpua. Keep aside for a while.

In a saucepan heat water. When water is about to boil, add sugar in it and mix well. Boil it until it turns sticky. Add cardamom powder in it, mix well. Turn off the gas. Sugar syrup is ready for malpua.

Heat ghee in a fry pan. When ghee is hot pour 1 tbsp batter in in to make a malpua. Make 2-3 malpuas at a time.

Allow them to fry until golden, flip and fry on the other side as well.

Remove them from pan and place it directly in sugar syrup. Wait for a while and place malpuas in a plate garnish with some dry fruits and serve hot with rabri. (Posted earlier)
