Ingredients

12 cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick)butter, softened
1/2 cupwhite sugar
1/2 cuppacked brown sugar
1egg
1 tspvanilla extract
1/2 tspbaking soda mixed with 1 tsp hot water
1/4 tspsalt
1 1/2 cupsflour
1 cupsemisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cupchopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg then stir in vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts.

Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans and bake for 12 minutes.
