When you have guests coming over for a meal, here's an easy way to make tandoori roti that will make your guests happy and save you time. I'm sharing a quick recipe for making roti in just 5 minutes.
Steps
- 1
To make tandoori roti, first prepare the dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup all-purpose flour, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well, then gradually add water to form a soft dough.
- 2
Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a small, round roti without using dry flour. Heat a large pressure cooker on the stove without the lid. Lightly brush water on one side of each rolled roti and gently stick them to the inside wall of the hot cooker, as shown in the picture.
- 3
Once the rotis are stuck to the cooker, turn the cooker upside down over high heat. Check occasionally to see if the top of the roti is cooked. When the top is done, turn the cooker upright, turn off the heat, and carefully remove the rotis with tongs.
- 4
Brush a little ghee or butter on top of each roti. Your hot, restaurant-style tandoori rotis are ready to serve. Enjoy them with dal.
