Ingredients

30-45 minutes
Serves 4-5 servings
  1. 1/2 lbkunafa dough (250 grams)
  2. 3 tablespoonsbutter
  3. For the cream filling:
  4. 2 cupswhole milk (about 480 ml)
  5. 2 tablespoonscornstarch
  6. 2 tablespoonssemolina
  7. 1 teaspoonorange blossom water
  8. For garnish:
  9. Simple syrup
  10. Pistachios

Steps

30-45 minutes
  1. 1

    Rub the kunafa dough with the melted butter.

  2. 2

    Toast the kunafa in a baking pan, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.

  3. 3

    To make the cream filling, mix all the ingredients except the orange blossom water with cold milk. Cook, stirring, until the mixture boils and thickens. Add the orange blossom water at the end.

  4. 4

    Layer the toasted kunafa and cream filling in cups, then garnish with pistachios and drizzle with simple syrup.
