Chicken Haleem

Haleem is made of a mix of grains and lentils and some type of meat. It is slow cooked dish , several hours to thoroughly break down the meat and grains, just come together beautifully. This is very nourishing dish, full of complex carbohydrates and protein.
In my family mostly we make overnight cooking for especially in muharam or special religious days like shab e barat , shab e qadar or shab e mirag etc.
Mostly family gatherings are held to cooked this delicious recipe all together the whole night .

Fry the onion in oil add ginger garlic Paste and spices keep stirring

Add chicken mix with masala let simmer it.

Add some water, cover with lid and let it simmer until tender and softened

Dry the all extra water cook it until meat leaves the bones
Take out all bones and keep stirring until all chicken nicely shredded - 5
Boil the whole wheat or dalia until softened and tender.

Cook the all mix lentils, without oil.

Grande the boiled wheat in grander nicely,

Grind the lentils Finley.

Mix lentils and wheat together then mix them in chicken masal

Let simmer until mixed well.
Pour in plate. Sprinkle some chat masala - 11
Make a salad plate special for haleem, with sliced onions fried onions, chopped tomatoes chopped green Chillies, ginger julienne, chopped cilantro and slices of lemon, sprinkle chat masala on salad.

Serve haleem with special salad and tandoori roti naan or paratha.
I love to eat with spoon.
