Normally with sweetcorn we make butter or flavored sweetcorn by adding spices like black pepper powder, cheese powder or chaat masala. We make crispy corn as a starter. But this is something different and made with very few ingredients recipe.

Normally with sweetcorn we make butter or flavored sweetcorn by adding spices like black pepper powder, cheese powder or chaat masala. We make crispy corn as a starter. But this is something different and made with very few ingredients recipe.

Add corn kernels and green chillies to mixie and grind it coarsely

Add oil to kadhai. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, turmeric powder and asafoetida to it. Then add coarsely grinded sweetcorn and green chillies. Mix it well. Stir it continuously for 10 minutes or else it will stick to kadhai. As you stir, you will see changing in color of sweetcorn. This is sign that sweetcorn is cooking. Cover it for 5 minutes and again stir it well.

When sweetcorn starts to leave the sides of kadhai then add lemon juice and mix it well.
Cover it for 2 minutes. Sweetcorn Upma is ready to serve. While serving garnish with coriander.
