Heat oil in a kadahi,add sliced onion and dried red chillies.Fry onion till golden,add washed red lentil.Saute few seconds.

Add 1 cup water and salt Cover and cook on low -medium flame till lentil is half done.

Add bottle gourds,cut in small cubes.Stir and add 1cup water.

Cover and further cook till both lentil and bottle gourd are incorporated well.

Add red chilli powder and cumin powder.Stir and put off the flame.Cover and leave for 5 minutes.

Serve with hot boiled rice.
