Marinate the chicken pieces with 1tspn salt, soya sauce, cornflour, black pepper and egg. Keep marinated for 15 to 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, sugar, honey, 1tspn salt and custard powder for the sauce. - 2
Coat the chicken pieces with flour and shake off the excess flour.

Deep fry the chicken pieces coated with flour

In hot oil add the sliced gingers and white part of the green onion and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the prepared sauce mix and one cup (120ml) water.
Once the sauce thickens add the fried chicken pieces, green onions and sliced lemon rings. Coat with the sauce.
Adjust the salt, sour and sweet taste
