Digestive Sweet Awla candy/ gooseberry is flavoured with saffron.
Steps

Wash and pat dry alwa. Place in holed vessel. Pressure cook without using water for 3 whistles. You will see it been sliced naturally.

Open the cooker as steam off. Transfer it in big pot. Add sugar and saffron strands in warm alwa. Mix well and covered with lid. Stir in between for 2-3 times in a day.

Repeat this process for 2 days till sugar melts. Strain it. Dry sugar saffron coated alwa under sun/ fan till completely dried. Store in airtight glass container.

Serve/Relish delicious, nutritious Kesar Awla as digestive after heavy meal.
