Thick Ankake Sauce for Crispy Noodles and Rice Bowls Thick Ankake Sauce for Crispy Noodles and Rice Bowls
I am properly measuring out the ingredient amounts that I've been eyeballing since they've been popular. This is surprisingly hard work. But I'm doing this not just for my friends who've requested for the recipes, but also for myself and uploading the results. In Step 13, after you add the Step 5 katakuriko potato starch flour, mix it rapidly and serve it right away on rice or fried noodles when it's just right.Since the vegetables and other added ingredients will decrease in volume quite a bit with heat, I recommend using a lot that may seem a bit too much at first.Vary this recipe by adding whatever you have in your refrigerator... Caribbean Heat! Hot Sauce (Habanero Pineapple) Caribbean Heat! Hot Sauce (Habanero Pineapple)
You know I love the crazy spicy stuff. But the Caribbean spice is more fruitful so in order to tame the Habanero heat, I use the island favorite pineapple which also gives it a nice tang finish right before the heat hits you. (Of course, the heat level is determined by the heat of the pepper batch...this one is extra hot!) Boca de Fogo -
Spring cabbage and pork stir-fry with miso and oyster sauce Spring cabbage and pork stir-fry with miso and oyster sauce
I wanted to make a good use of spring cabbage. The flavour of miso and oyster sauce mix is absolutely delicious.I used 2 large leaves of cabbage for this recipe. If your cabbage seems smaller in size, I would suggest you using a little more than that (3 to 4 leaves). The sauce is quite rich in flavour so you can be generous with the amount of vegetables you add to the pan. The finished dish will be as delicious if you swap japanese leek with onion. Recipe by Nanohana cookpad.japan -
Aubergine Sauce with Saffron Rice Aubergine Sauce with Saffron Rice
This may be the most awesome dish I've ever made: it's spicy, sweet and tangy. There are quite a few steps and ingredients but it is well worth it. The saffron-berry rice compliments the vegetable sauce perfectly red.queen -
Sautéed Chicken Breast Meat in a Sweet Miso Sauce Sautéed Chicken Breast Meat in a Sweet Miso Sauce
Of course I want to cut calories, even if it is with dry and tasteless chicken. But with this recipe, it'll become plump and delicious.Cut the chicken breast into fine pieces, soak in sake, then dredge in flour to prevent it from drying out. Coating it keeps the juices from coming out, and soaks up the sauce. The juices and sauce cling to the chicken well, so you can use it as a side dish in your bento as well. The garlic shoots give a more subtle aroma than regular garlic. It becomes sweet when sautéed. Recipe by pegupepepe cookpad.japan -

Chicken and Cabbage Simmered in Tomato Sauce Chicken and Cabbage Simmered in Tomato Sauce
I had a lot of cabbage that I'd bought or gotten from people to use up so I came up with this recipe. Since then it's become a family favorite.Because you dust the chicken with flour before browning and then simmering it the umami is held inside and the meat won't fall apart. By sprinkling it with some sake for cooking, the gaminess of the chicken is gone and it becomes very tender. Adjust the amount of salt and water depending on how much cabbage you use. I use about 1/2 a tomato can of water. Recipe by Makichimu cookpad.japan -
Tomato tangy (salsa / spread /pizza sauce) Tomato tangy (salsa / spread /pizza sauce)
I was trying to make some pizza at home. I thought, why not make the pizza on bread readily available from the bakery. I had just returned from work, and wanted to whip up something quick. But this time I ran out of pizza tomato sauce. This simple recipe for a tomato sauce I whipped up next from scratch is a game changer. R R
