Bacon & Sirloin Wrapped, Cream Cheese Stuffed Chicken Legs

jessica crain
jessica crain @Jeslynnskitchen

I had some thin sliced sirloin steaks that I didn't know what to do with. Sirloin isn't a steak that I normally buy, neither is the thin cut. I personally enjoy thick steaks of Ribeye or Fillet Mignons. I also had some chicken legs I needed to cook using my air fryer, yet didn't wanna do the norm. I decided to incorporate both the thin sliced Sirloin and the Chicken Legs into the same recipe. This is what I got!

Steps

30- 38 minutes
  1. 1

Take Chicken Legs and peel back the skin to the bottom, leaving as a "hanging skirt"

  2. 2

Coat each leg with a bit of canola oil and sprinkle with salt, garlic and pepper

  3. 3

With a knife, make a slit into the thick meaty part of each leg and stuff with a bit of cream cheese. I used about a tbsp of cream cheese per leg.

  4. 4

Carefully wrap each leg with the thinly sliced sirloin steaks and pull the skin of the legs back up, and then over the steak, trying to wrap over and kinda tuck the steak.

  5. 5

With bacon, individually wrap each cream-chz stuffed, steak-wrapped leg. I used 1 slice bacon per leg.

  6. 6

Spray Canola oil generously to the inside of your air fryer and pre-heat to 375°

  7. 7

Add all your wrapped legs to the air fryer (you may choose to top the bacon wrapped legs with sliced jalepenos after in the pan) I also sprayed each leg with canola oil after placing into pan. Cook all this for 15 minutes at 375°

  8. 8

Turn all your legs after 15min, then cook an additional 15minutes at 375°

  9. 9

Check to be sure your chicken has cooked thoroughly, no blood when you slice all the way down into the thickest part of a leg. You may choose to use a meat thermometer for a desired doneness of at least 165° -175° for chicken legs. If needed, continue cooking, checking every few minutes for desired doneness.
